Janusz Kowalski Super Fusion Band
The Janusz Kowalski Super Fusion Band plays original compositions in a high
energy jazz-fusion style. Tenor saxophonist Janusz Kowalski had received his
Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies from Berklee College of Music in 1991 and
since than he has been leading The Super Fusion Band. The band had played
concerts around New England area including Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, MA
as well as Jazz Club Fireplace in New York City and at the Jazz Jamboree
Jazz Festival in New York City. Pianist Yasko Kubota had graduated from
Berklee and she leads her jazz group The Kubota Power Jazz Unit. Bass player
Archie Kubota is an internationally performing multi-instrumentalist and he
is a founder/artistic director of Samurai Taiko, an acclaimed Japanese
drumming troupe in Boston, MA. Drummer Rick Klane began his professional
music career in Florida as a rock, jazz and show drummer. Rick had graduated
from Berklee and has recorded 18 CDs as a member of various
jazz,fusion,folk,ethnic and rock music bands.

Black Sea Salsa Band
Black Sea Salsa Band is a 15-piece World-Music group made up of 6 horns,
4 vocalists, and 5 rhythm, playing an original blend of Armenian music
and Afro-Cuban Jazz. Led by trumpeter Dan Teager, who writes and arranges
the band's repertoire, Black Sea Salsa has established itself as one
of Boston's premier festival bands, playing for venues such as Sail
Boston 2000, Marblehead Arts Festival, Norwood Summerfest, and the
Boston Arts Festival. In addition, the group has been officially recognized
by the Massachusetts Arts Council, which awarded Black Sea Salsa a
grant to perform a series of outdoor concerts in Belmont and Watertown. |

Boston's DIANE BLUE has the "whole package" - she is a strong vocalist,
skillful harmonica player and a crowd pleasing entertainer. Voted
Outstanding Female Singer in The Blues Audience 2011 Readers Poll,
Ms. Blue is a soulful and sassy performer with a strong, confident attack and
energetic delivery, serving up her own spin on soul, blues and R&B.
Ms. Blue won the 2010 Massachusetts Blues Challenge,
earning the honor of competing at the 2011 International Blues Challenge in
Memphis, Tennessee. She was nominated for "Best Female Singer" in
the 2010 Blues Audience Readers Poll, "Best Blues/R&B Act" and
"Best Female Vocalist in 2007 by the Providence Phoenix and also nominated
"Best Local Blues Act" by Motif Magazine in 2007.
Ms. Diane Blue has played harmonica and/or sung with guitarist extraordinaire,
Ronnie Earl, as well as international performers Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson (former
sideman for Muddy Waters), Big Jack Johnson (of Clarksdale, Mississippi) and
Irma Thomas (the Soul Queen of New Orleans). Juke joint legend Big Jack Johnson
dubbed Ms. Blue A Monster on the harp after she performed as his
guest star at Red's Lounge in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Ms. Blue continues to tour internationally as well as performing in the USA.

sure to have a good time!

Somerville-based singer Celia Slatterys original music weaves elements of jazz, pop and folk/rock with perceptive lyrics inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. The songs touch upon broad-ranging themes including friendship and finding hope in troubled times. Celia also covers music by songwriters ranging from George Gershwin to Adele. In performance, she provides context for the songs with stories and humor. Celia will be joined for this show by members of her voice studio, TBA.

Rogerio Souza Quartet
Here is a rare opportunity to hear 7-string guitarist Rogerio Souza,
from Rio de Janeiro, who is returning to Boston for the second time.
An award winner composer and arranger, he has performed with some of
the great artists in Brazilian popular music, including: Paulinho da
Viola, João Bosco, Ney Matogrosso, Ivan Lins, Elizeth Cardoso, Dona
Ivone Lara, Elsa Soares, Zélia Duncan, Leila Pinheiro, Baden Powell,
Salamandra, Paulo Moura, Guinga, Altamiro Carrilho, Cristóvão Bastos,
Raphael Rabello, Turibio Santos, and Época de Ouro. Producer of many
CDs, he has toured the US, Europe and South America. He is one of the
founding members of Brazils most innovative choro ensembles, the
group Nó em Pingo D'Água, and he is the co-editor of the Choro
Songbook vol. One.
Rogério Souza will share the stage with friend musicians Fernando
Brandão on flutes, Leonardo Lucini on bass (from Washington D.C.), and
a guest percussionist.
Among other styles, the concert will feature choros, maxixes, sambas
on original compositions and music by Baden Powell, Pixinguinha, Jacob
do Bandolim, and other prominent composers.

Valdiza Moura & Marambaia Group
Vocalist Valdiza Moura is a dynamic performer with a gorgeous voice
and effortless stage presence. She embodies the most elusive and
enchanting aspects of Brazilian music, and brings a relaxed intensity
to her work that has captivated music lovers from all over. She will
be presenting her project " Outro Brasil", which includes some of her
own compositions and new arrangements of little-known Brazilian gems.
Her show combines the sublime with the ethereal, the rural with the
urban, and the religious with the secular, delving into Brazil's folk
roots and coming up with new interpretations. Moura is backed by a
talented and culturally diverse ensemble of musicians who bring a
variety of other musical elements.
